Who We Are

IDUSA, the Independent Democratic Union of South Africa — the spear of the workers — is a multi-sector union that represents all workers in South Africa and in all 9 provinces. IDUSA has a footprint in all 9 provinces, and no company is too big nor too small.

The union was founded on 17 January 2019 in Pretoria, Olievenhoutbosch, as a township-based union whereby all workers could freely walk in and consult at any time. The union is based in Pretoria but consults on site to avoid unnecessary travel of members to and from the office.
